Join me on an ambient meditative journey. This eurorack patch (a series of patches, really) features loud bits, quiet bits, random hairpin turns, and little tiny bits of kitchen sink all ground up into a thick paste. A modular synth meditative experience, complete with noise walls that summon darkness and arp pads to ameliorate said darkness. For these Eurorack Collab Sessions, we invite artists from Seattle's modular synth community to jam with us in an unlikely setting, with the intention of posting the results online, whatever they may be. There is no rehearsal or planning... we simply boot up our synths and go. This is the magic of Modular Synthesis / Eurorack: individual artists have such a variety of sound at their disposal, that collaborative sessions could literally go anywhere. There is no guidebook or norm for how to do collaborative modular synth music. There are no genres to contend with. It's just electronics and musicality.

To prove that modular synths can be used in a collaborative and improvisational setting like any other instrument, we regularly invite local (Seattle) artists to jam with us for the purpose of posting the results online. In this particularly exciting session, Snowdn (Justin Benjamin) and Milo Dowling join Tree Cathedral (John Kammerer and Michael Vawter) to create some ambient noise music.
